AH64 Apache Rotor Sound – SFX
The AH-64 Apache is a twin-engine, four-blade attack helicopter developed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing). It has been in service since the 1980s and is one of the most advanced and heavily armed attack helicopters in the world.
The crew sits in tandem, with the pilot sitting behind and above the co-pilot/gunner. Both crew members are capable of flying the aircraft and performing methods of weapon engagements independently. The AH-64 is powered by two General Electric T700 turboshaft engines with high-mounted exhausts on either side of the fuselage.
Armament:
- 30mm M230 Chain Gun: Mounted under the helicopter’s nose, this automatic cannon is capable of firing up to 625 rounds per minute.
- Missiles: The Apache can carry a combination of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles for anti-armor capabilities and AIM-92 Stinger missiles for air-to-air combat.
- Rockets: It is also equipped with Hydra 70 rocket pods for additional firepower.
