AH64 Apache Rotor 2 Sound – SFX
The AH-64 Apache is a twin-engine, four-blade attack helicopter developed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing). It has been in service since the 1980s and is one of the most advanced and heavily armed attack helicopters in the world.
The crew sits in tandem, with the pilot sitting behind and above the co-pilot/gunner. Both crew members are capable of flying the aircraft and performing methods of weapon engagements independently. The AH-64 is powered by two General Electric T700 turboshaft engines with high-mounted exhausts on either side of the fuselage.
Avionics and Systems:
- The AH-64 features advanced targeting systems, including the Target Acquisition and Designation System and the Pilot Night Vision System, which allow for precise engagement of targets day or night.
- Some versions, like the AH-64D Apache Longbow, are equipped with the Longbow radar, which provides fire control and situational awareness, enabling the helicopter to detect, classify, and prioritize up to 256 targets simultaneously.
