M240 Designed Sound – Modern Weapons SFX Library
The M240 Designed Sound is the sound of the M240 Machine Gun, the U.S. military designation for the FN MAG, a family of belt-fed, gas-operated medium machine guns that chamber the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. The M240 has been used by the United States Armed Forces since the late 1970s. Infantry uses it extensively, most often in rifle companies, as well as on ground vehicles, watercraft and aircraft. Though it is heavier than some comparable weapons, it is highly regarded for reliability and its standardization among NATO members is a major advantage. All variants are fed from disintegrating belts and are capable of firing most types of 7.62 mm NATO ammunition. M240 variants can be converted to use non-disintegrating belts. There are significant differences in weight and some features among some versions which restrict the interchangeability of parts.
The M240 Designed Sound demonstration uses 3 combined “Start” + ”Loop” + ”End” sounds, then 4 random “OneShot” sounds for close distance. And 3 combined “Dist_Start” + ” Dist_Loop” + ” Dist_End” sounds, then 4 random “Dist_OneShot” sounds for far distance. All the sounds in this preview as is the library, without processing. In addition, you can hear a similar sound from our projects for Unity and Unreal Engine. Please find links for example on our site or on our Youtube channel.
