FIM92 Stinger Designed Sound – Modern Weapons SFX Library
The FIM92 Stinger Designed Sound is the sound of the FIM-92 Stinger, an American man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) that operates as an infrared homing surface-to-air missile (SAM). It can be adapted to fire from a wide variety of ground vehicles, and from helicopters as the Air-to-Air Stinger (ATAS). It entered service in 1981 and is used by the militaries of the United States and 29 other countries. The FIM-92 Stinger is a passive surface-to-air missile that can be shoulder-fired by a single operator. The Stinger was intended to supplant the FIM-43 Redeye system, the principal difference being that, unlike the Redeye, the Stinger can acquire the target from head-on, giving much more time to acquire and destroy the target. The M1097 Avenger and the M6 Linebacker can use the FIM-92B missile. The missile is also capable of being deployed from a Humvee Stinger rack. Also airborne troops can use it.
The FIM92 Stinger Designed sound demonstration uses 4 random “OneShot” sounds for close distance, then 4 random “Dist_OneShot” sounds for far distance. All the sounds in this preview as is the library, without processing. In addition, you can hear a similar sound from our projects for Unity and Unreal Engine.
